Interest only mortgage is it for you? That's something that you may want to consider if you can afford it. Basically what this consists of you are paying the interest off the loan for say 5 or 10 years. None of your payment though is going on your balance. Your only paying the interest on your loan. Some people like this idea as it works better for some than others. i guess it's an individual think if you like interest only mortgage. It's usually attached to the mortgage when you get if you want. I guess a lot of this will depend on the financial situation of the person making out the loan. This way your not paying the interest the life of the loan. Many people hate the interest these banks and finance companies charge so this sis something they want to get rid of as soon as possible. meanwhile others like making the same payment over the life of the loan so they don't get this kind of interest only mortgage. I guess I can see both sides of this, but I'm on the theory to make the same payment every month.

Now depending on the interest rates you also may want to figure this into your loan. I could see if you had an adjustable rate loan and adding interest only mortgage to it would help you in the long run if you paid all the interest off. The banks probably like that because the profit they make would already be in their pockets and even if you defaulted on the loan they would still have the home to sell what is owed. I guess for a bank it's a win-win situation for them. The bank could quite possibly make interest twice on the same home. Their are many factors that you should look at before going with a interest only mortgage. It could be something in the end that you don't really want to get into. It's all up to what you feel best for your and your situation. Do some good investigation before you sign on the dotted line though. It's better to be safe than sorry when it comes to your home.
